Job summary

Torrey Holistics is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to service furnaces, auxiliary equipment, and plant structures. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs while documenting work orders and maintaining safety lockouts.

This role requires reading prints, following procedures, and applying basic electrical, mechanical, welding, and pipefitting skills in a heat‑intense environment. Training on safety protocols is provided.

  • Ability to read and interpret prints, safety rules and manuals.
  • Math skills for basic calculations and measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on furnaces and auxiliary systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues under supervision and document work.
  • Apply basic electrical, mechanical, welding and pipefitting know‑how.
  • Participate in safety training and follow lockout/space protocols.
  • Maintain PM system records, scheduling and completion tracking.

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — Furnace & Auxiliary SystemsA day in this roleYou arrive with a plan: inspect the furnaces, walk the secondary equipment line, and close out preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on schedule. By midday, you’ve logged findings in the Preventive Maintenance System, swapped a worn component, and teamed up with a lead to troubleshoot a mechanical hiccup. Before shift’s end, you’ve updated work orders and verified safety lockouts—keeping heat, motion, and uptime working together.What you’ll doExecute equipment preventive and predictive maintenance on furnaces, secondary equipment, and physical plant structures.Troubleshoot and repair issues under supervision, documenting work performed.Apply basic electrical, mechanical, welding, and pipefitting know-how to maintain reliability.Participate in safety training and follow all safety procedures, including lockout and confined space protocols.Conduct and maintain the Preventive Maintenance System, including PM scheduling and completion recording.Supervisory scopeNone—unless specifically assigned within the maintenance department.What you bringGeneral maintenance aptitude; familiarity with industrial maintenance is a plus.Ability to read and interpret prints, diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; complete Maintenance Request Forms accurately.Math capability: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.Reasoning skills to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form.Education and experienceHigh school diploma or GED preferred (not required).One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.Additional training needs may be identified during employee appraisals.Licenses and certificationsHi-lo (forklift) license.Confined Space permits and/or training.Other required abilitiesAbility to complete client course on confined space and lockout.Physical demandsWhile performing the duties of this job, you will frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Work environmentYou will frequently work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to extreme heat & open flames.
