Job summary

Tata Consumer Products Ltd. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to keep our production lines running and minimize downtime on the shop floor.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy machinery, follow GMPs and SOPs, and collaborate with production operators and quality teams to drive operational excellence across our Maryland plant. Experience with bulk material transfer, packaging equipment, and safety protocols is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or trade school preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or millwright in manufacturing.
• Experience with heavy equipment, packaging equipment, and high-speed systems.
• Ability to handle power voltages safely and follow safety protocols.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Keep our plant running by operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting high-speed manufacturing equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on large fuel distribution systems and heavy machinery.
• Apply expertise in bulk material transfer, processing, packaging, or facilities/utilities to improve operations.
• Follow GMPs, SOPs, and plant safety standards to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with production operators, sanitation/quality teams, and maintenance staff to deliver improvements.
• Use computer systems for recordkeeping and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

To be great at this job you will need:

• High school diploma/GED required; technical/trade school or apprenticeship preferred
• 2-5 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic or millwright in a manufacturing environment, including high-speed manufacturing equipment
• Skilled in handling all levels of power voltage safely
• Experience maintaining heavy equipment, packaging equipment, and large fuel distribution systems
• Strong teamwork skills, with experience working closely with production operators, sanitation or quality teams, plant leadership, and maintenance teammates
• Comfortable working with computers for documentation and troubleshooting
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs, lockout/tagout procedures, and root-cause troubleshooting
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Available for shift flexibility, overtime, weekend coverage, and extended shifts

Physical Requirements:

In order to perform duties in a satisfactory manner, you must be able to navigate the production floor where temperatures may vary in an environment with dust particulates. Prolonged standing and walking, and regular bending, stooping, climbing, and crouching are required in order to service, troubleshoot, and clean equipment. Also required to push, lift, and pull various raw materials such as film, tin tie rolls, and valves weighing up to 60 lbs.

• Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment

• Exposure to high noise levels, dusts, heat, cold, and fumes from chemicals used in flavorings
