Job summary

Techo-Bloc is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to keep our production equipment running at peak performance in Douglassville, PA. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy industrial machinery, focusing on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

You’ll participate in preventive maintenance and safety programs while utilizing advanced tools and precision measuring devices to ensure uptime and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in Heavy Industrial Maintenance; technical degrees/certificates preferred.
• Experience using bearing heaters, interference fits, and removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts.
• Advanced stick welding and fabrication skills repairing heavy industrial equipment.
• Basic understanding of motor controls, PLCs, and VFDs preferred.
• Basic industrial electrical experience.
• Rigging, hoisting, and equipment installation experience.
• Precision measuring with micrometers/calipers/dial indicators for tight tolerances.
• Proficient with power tools and fabrication equipment (grinders, drills, welding, etc.).
• Experience with CMMS and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets and pulleys.
• Lead hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs, including pressure issues, sensors and valves.
• Do stick welding in various positions across the factory.
• Lead emergency breakdown responses to minimize downtime of production equipment.
• Align machines using hoists, jacks, and precision tools.
• Replace wear parts by disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and refurbishing components.
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components like relays, switches and motors.

Job Description

• Pay: $33–$42/hr base pay + year-end bonus
• $2/hr shift differential for hours worked 5pm-5am
• $85K–$107K average annual income based on experience

Position:

Techo-Bloc is on the hunt for their next Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. Our technicians are highly proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting our production equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and augers.
• Leads troubleshooting and repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pressure issues, large cylinders, sensors, proportional valves, solenoids & pumps
• Stick welding in various positions, locations throughout the factory utilizing various types of joints
• Leads emergency breakdowns to minimize unscheduled downtime of production equipment.
• Splice, track, tension, align and replace components on conveyor systems
• Replacing wear parts by disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and refurbishing or replacing components. i.e.- gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, bearing, etc.
• Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, laser alignment tools and various other tools.
• Repair, install and dismantle heavy industrial production equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
• Enter daily tasks, parts used and time into work order system
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, load cells, switches, contactors, motors, etc.
• Reference technical documentation, electrical schematics, equipment manuals and service instructions to complete work accurately

Qualifications:

• 3 + years’ experience working in Heavy Industrial Maintenance. Technical degrees/certificates in welding, electro‑mechanical, electric or related field preferred
• Previous experience using bearing heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts
• Advanced stick welding and fabrication skills repairing heavy industrial equipment
• Basic understanding of motor controls, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and VFDs (variable frequency drives) is preferred
• Basic industrial electrical experience
• Experienced with rigging, hoisting, and equipment installation
• Experienced with precision alignment and fine adjustments
• Proficiency in precision measuring utilizing high‑accuracy tools like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc. to verify tight tolerances in manufacturing
• Proficient with use of power tools and fabrication equipment. i.e. grinders, drills, welding, saws, press, bearing heaters, torch, etc.
• Experienced working with CMMS and MS Office Suite
