Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for its Lenexa, KS bakery facility. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and lift up to 50 pounds, maintaining safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in industrial maintenance, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and familiarity with SAP for parts checkout. A high school diploma and a willingness to rotate across areas are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; tech/trade certification a plus.
• 2+ years as a technician in industrial maintenance or related fields.
• Willingness to rotate assignments in a bakery environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work habits and proper tool usage on maintenance tasks.
• Inspect and service mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Rebuild drive components and verify mechanical timing for equipment.
• Lubricate components and perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Identify worn parts and troubleshoot drive and conveyor components.
• Wire and troubleshoot electrical components; operate SAP for parts checkout and data entry.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and follow company policies.

Industrial Maintenance Technicians ensure optimal efficiency is achieved by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, with safety and quality standards being a top priority. They must possess a technical mindset and demonstrate strong mechanical capabilities, while being flexible and adaptable as they will be required to rotate job assignments throughout various areas of the bakery. Industrial Maintenance Technicians must have the aptitude and drive to seek and acquire on-going training due to ever evolving technological improvements and performance standards. Role requires the ability to climb fixed and portable ladders to a height of twenty (20) feet, the ability to stoop and bend while lifting weights up to fifty (50) pounds, and the ability to climb onto and crawl under machinery, as required.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Demonstrate safe work habits, proper tool selection and usage, general shop practices, maintenance tasks, thorough knowledge of support equipment, critical and non-critical equipment components, and equipment operational sequencing
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical welding, gas welding, cutting, soldering, pipe fittings, and metal fabrication (milling and lathe)
• Identify and inspect mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
• Rebuild mechanical drive components such as clutches, brakes, etc.
• Verify and correct mechanical timing
• Perform proper component lubrication and conduct preventive maintenance on specific equipment
• Identify mechanical wear and identify, troubleshoot, and replace mechanical drive and conveyor components
• Identify, wire, and troubleshoot electrical components
• Use SAP software for parts checkout, reporting, and general data entry
• Practice learned knowledge of environmental and maintenance programs
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
• Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures
• Possess or attain licenses required by their respective municipal, county/ward or state regulatory agencies to work with boilers, refrigeration components and various other job-related equipment

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a technician in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, welding, electrical, industrial equipment, automotive repairs, or related field

Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical/Trade School certification or diploma a plus

Salary Range- 33.95-38.19
