Job summary

AVL in Charlotte, NC seeks a Machine Builder-1st shift to assemble equipment and enclosures, reading blueprints and installing major components with hand and power tools. You will handle, load, and position heavy subassemblies using forklifts and overhead cranes, following safety protocols and documentation practices.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of related trade experience and the ability to read drawings and tolerances.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a trade with similar responsibilities.
• Experience reading drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches and product specifications to determine assembly operations.
• Assist with rigging, hoisting, moving and aligning large subassemblies (up to 40 tons) using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Assemble heavy machinery and enclosures per drawings and specifications.
• Install major components such as gears, pumps, motors, hydraulics, fans and insulation using hand/power tools.
• Thread and install piping and pipe spools following engineering drawings.
• Maintain safety and documentation standards in accordance with company policies.
