Job summary

Aerotek is hiring for a Mechanical Assembler / Machine Builder in Fairfield, NJ. This contract-to-hire role involves assembling machinery from blueprints, wiring motors and controls, and calibrating equipment on a fully onsite basis.

You will read schematics, interpret wiring diagrams, and use hand and power tools to build, test, and document assemblies while training customers on operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Experience with mechanical assembling or wiring industrial control panels or similar electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and build industrial machinery from blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
• Complete mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of motors, controls, and machine components.
• Fit, align, level, adjust, and calibrate equipment.
• Use hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
• Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure quality and proper operation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during machine builds.
• Assist with equipment installation, startup, service, and repair at customer locations.
• Train customers on basic equipment operation and maintenance.
• Complete service reports and equipment documentation.
