Job summary

WorkCare, Inc. is seeking an LPN to provide occupational health support in a paper mill. You will promote employee wellness, administer first aid, assist with health surveillance, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with the OHN/Manager and EHS to maintain a safe workplace. The role requires Mississippi LPN licensure, BLS/CPR, and 3–5 years of nursing experience, ideally in occupational health.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Mississippi LPN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
• Occupational Health Nursing certification preferred, not required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing experience (occupational health, emergency, urgent care, or industrial setting preferred).
• Experience with first aid, triage, and case management is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate clinical care and first aid per standing orders.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records of employee encounters.
• Assist with arranging referrals and follow-up care with physicians or specialists.
• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, BP, glucose) and monitor chronic conditions.
• Participate in employee health surveillance programs (e.g., hearing conservation).
• Support case management for workplace injuries, including return-to-work assessments.
• Perform Drug Screening
• Perform Pulmonary Fit Test
• Assist with AED compliance
• Perform Fit testing
• Assist with training of onsite EMR’s
• Assist in OSHA and safety regulation compliance
• Maintain documentation for workplace injury/illness reporting
• Support wellness and safety initiatives
• Provide health education on injury prevention and wellness
• Promote vaccination programs and safety meetings
