Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Laborers for a project in Wilson, NC. This on-site role supports concrete work, form setup, material handling, and site housekeeping to help complete industrial construction tasks.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work in varying weather conditions, and follow safety and quality procedures. Benefits and paid time off after 3 months are offered.

Qualifications

• Safety and general job training completed as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and customer safety and quality procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes and stretch lines.
• Bolt, nail, align and block up forms.
• Level earth to fine grade with pick and shovel.
• Mix concrete with a portable mixer.
• Finish fresh cement or concrete using float, trowel or screed.
• Apply paints or bituminous coatings for surface protection.
• Spray water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco to clean, coat or seal surfaces.
• Load, unload and move materials.
• Maintain site housekeeping.
• Apply caulking by hand or with a caulking gun to seal crevices.
• Grind, sand or polish surfaces like concrete or steel with abrasive tools.
• Perform varied tasks using hands and tools (demo, lumber, removing projections, mounting pipe hangers, insulating material).
• Repeat short- duration tasks per procedure.
• Recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Perform other duties as required.
