Job summary

Stafford County is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I–III to assist in maintaining and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment across our facilities. Work includes basic preventive maintenance, using test equipment, reading diagrams, and following safety procedures.

The positions offer progression from Technician I to III with increasing responsibilities and pay ranges; qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED and may possess CCST Level

Qualifications

• Basic familiarity with instrumentation and electrical trades and tools.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with others.
• Willingness to be on-call as needed.
• Knowledge of IT systems including GIS, SCADA, CMMS and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic preventive maintenance and repairs on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
• Ensure work area and storage cabinets are organized and clean.
• Locate instruments and electrical devices and use tools to perform tasks.
• Complete equipment performance checks and record findings.
• Measure, cut and install electrical conduit under supervision.
• Install electrical raceways with required tools.
• Communicate with team on daily tasks and projects.
• Wear PPE before starting projects and operate county vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
