Responsibilities

• Oversees a comprehensive industrial hygiene program to recognize, evaluate and monitor chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic stresses in the workplace to provide safety for patients, visitors and staff.
• Maintains a current IH library and stays current with codes and regulations; identifies hazards and implements improvements.
• Evaluates work processes and materials to ensure preventive measures against occupational hazards; performs ergonomic assessments and makes recommendations.
• Investigates health problems among workers and establishes screening programs for exposure to toxic materials or hazards; develops directives and information bulletins for the IH program.
