Job summary

US Military Treatment Facilities under DHA in Alaska is seeking an Industrial Hygienist. A degree in industrial hygiene or a related field with accredited coursework is required; a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of graduate study is also acceptable.

ABIH certification can substitute for the degree requirements. The position is a Direct Hire Solicitation with potential recruitment or relocation incentives.

Qualifications

• Basic requirement for Industrial Hygienist: a degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, or related field, accredited by a recognized body.
• Related Degree: engineering/physical/life science with chemistry coursework and additional science courses, accredited as above.
• Certification from ABIH is acceptable in lieu of the above education.
• Specialized experience: one year conducting industrial hygiene studies or surveys, analyzing data, and advising on hazards (GS-09 level).
• Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education.
• Combination of Education and Experience: total percentage must be at least 100%.
