Job summary

NV5 is seeking a CSST/CAC-Certified Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our Building Sciences Team serving the Los Angeles and Orange County area. The role focuses on hazardous materials in the built environment, including lead, asbestos, and mold, with surveys, air monitoring, and reporting.

You will work under a Senior Consultant, conduct building inspections, develop scopes of work, oversee remediation activities, analyze sampling data, and prepare client reports.

Qualifications

• AA or BA/BS in environmental science, construction management, engineering, or industrial hygiene; minimum six months of relevant experience.
• Must have current CSST CAC certification by Cal/OSHA or CAC (California Asbestos Consultants).
• Additional certifications such as NIOSH 582, CDPH Inspector Assessor, and OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent building inspections for asbestos, lead, and other hazardous materials.
• Perform air monitoring during remediation processes and inspect sampling plans.
• Develop and implement sampling plans for hazardous materials.
• Analyze and interpret hazardous materials data.
• Prepare and deliver reports with findings and recommendations.
• Provide technical assistance to clients on hazardous materials issues.
• Stay up-to-date on hazardous materials regulations and best practices.
