Job summary

DNC Hydraulics LLC is seeking a Field Hydraulic Technician to troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic systems on-site at steel mills and other heavy industrial facilities. You will identify leaks, evaluate operating conditions, and select appropriate seal materials to ensure long-term reliability.

Travel regionally is required as you perform resealing work, document findings, and maintain tools and the service truck in a safe, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Experience in hydraulic component service, repair, or power-unit troubleshooting.
• Hydraulic leak prevention specialist capabilities, including leak identification and precision resealing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic ability, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate hydraulic applications and understand importance of temperature, seal-groove dimensions, and squeeze.
• Ability to work independently, document findings accurately, and represent the company professionally in the field.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and assess hydraulic systems and components on-site at steel mills and other heavy industrial facilities.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on hydraulic systems used in mill presses, shears, injection molding systems, power units, valves, pumps, manifolds, and related equipment.
• Identify and document hydraulic leak points within the customer’s specified area of concern.
• Evaluate application conditions and select appropriate seal and O-ring materials for the operating environment.
• Measure or verify operating temperature, seal-groove specifications, and seal squeeze to support proper sealing and long-term reliability.
• Determine which components require attention and perform appropriate resealing work using suitable seal and O-ring materials.
• Support preventive, oil-reduction, leak-prevention, and emergency service needs for industrial customers.
• Coordinate with company personnel to determine when components should be returned to the facility for repair or rebuild.
• Complete accurate work orders, service reports, findings, and other required documentation.
• Maintain company tools and service truck in clean, organized, safe, and professional condition.
• Represent the company professionally while working independently at customer facilities and while traveling.

Requirements

• Hydraulic leak prevention specialist capabilities, including leak identification, seal selection, and precision resealing, (Preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic ability, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate hydraulic applications and understand the importance of temperature, seal-groove dimensions, and seal squeeze.
• Ability to work independently, document findings accurately, and represent DNC professionally in the field.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to travel regionally, including overnight stays.
