Job summary

Moog is seeking an Industrial Hydraulic Mechanic in Buffalo, NY to install, maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic, heating, water, air and gas systems on site. You will work from drawings, use measuring devices and hand/power tools to ensure safe operation.

The role requires 3 years of related experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to read layouts in English. Shift schedules include nights and potential weekend coverage, with 2nd/3rd shift differential where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to understand verbal, written and computer work instructions in English.
• Experience reading drawings or layouts.
• Ability to perform basic math operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and operate equipment in hydraulic, heating, water, air or gas systems.
• Suggest location and method of hook-up for instruments, valves, controls, brackets and supports; perform soldering, brazing and welding as required.
• Check completed equipment/systems, move and install, and perform functional checks for safe operation.
• Build special test equipment for engineering.
• Maintain/replace various test equipment or portions of central systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment and replace faulty components including hydraulic pumps; coordinate with repair and electrician personnel.
• Maintain oil levels in hydraulic systems.
• Drain, clean, change filters and report contamination levels.
• Observe unusual conditions and notify supervisor or technical personnel.
• Exercise extreme caution to prevent cross contamination.
