Job summary

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is currently recruiting HVAC Tech/Mechanics to support the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, CA. Flexible shift schedules and schedule changes may be required by Ansible or its customers.

The role involves repairing, testing, and maintaining central control consoles, electrical distribution equipment up to 12,000 volts, and various HVAC systems to ensure facility operations and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of journeyman-level experience working on industrial HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of inspection and maintenance practices, using manufacturers’ information, literature, trade guides, and manuals.
• Knowledge of the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration, including refrigeration cycling and heat transfer laws.
• Knowledge of control elements, including high and low side pressure, temperatures of cooling units, and running time of various mechanisms.
• Skill in applying test procedures and equipment common to the HVAC/refrigeration trade.
• Ability to locate leaks and other issues via visual and/or audible equipment examination.

Responsibilities

• Repair, test, and calibrate central control consoles and related systems.
• Install conduit, wiring, and cable, complete splices and test circuits for continuity and safety.
• Perform routine maintenance, repair, service, and cleaning of high-voltage distribution systems.
• Repair, service, maintain, install, modify, and troubleshoot electrical/pneumatic equipment.
• Operate, maintain, repair, and service emergency power generators and related equipment.
• Make circuit analyses and design, install, and maintain complex alarm systems.
