Job summary

Alamo Group is seeking an Industrial / Automotive Painter to prepare, prime, and paint heavy equipment components such as grapple trucks and knuckle boom loaders. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of industrial or automotive painting experience, plus knowledge of surface prep and finishing techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of industrial or automotive painting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, coating applications, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to use spray painting equipment and related tools.
• Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards and hazardous material handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, blasting, masking, and applying fillers as needed.
• Mix and apply paints, primers, and coatings using spray guns and other application equipment.
• Apply industrial coatings to metal parts and fully assembled heavy equipment.
• Inspect finished surfaces to ensure proper coverage, thickness, and quality standards.
• Maintain paint equipment, booths, and tools in safe working condition.
• Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials and ventilation systems.
• Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and coating specifications.
• Perform touch-ups and rework as necessary.
• Track materials usage and maintain accurate production records.
• Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to meet production deadlines.
