Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a qualified Fuelman to support fueling operations in Chalmette, Louisiana. The Fuelman will safely handle, transport, store, and dispense fuel and lubricants to construction and industrial equipment, ensuring continuous operation while complying with all safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, maintaining fueling logs, and coordinating with mechanics during turnaround activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience fueling heavy equipment, industrial equipment, construction equipment, or commercial vehicles is preferred.
• Knowledge of fuel handling procedures and spill prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely fuel construction and industrial equipment, vehicles, generators, compressors, and other jobsite equipment.
• Inspect fuel trucks, tanks, pumps, hoses, and dispensing equipment before each shift.
• Monitor fuel and lubricant inventory levels and report replenishment needs.
• Maintain accurate fueling logs, equipment records, and inventory documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of fueling stations and storage areas.
• Identify and report fuel leaks, spills, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards.
• Assist mechanics and equipment personnel with fluid servicing, including oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, and grease.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations regarding fuel storage, spill prevention, and hazardous material handling.
• Follow all site‑specific safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, PPE, and emergency response procedures.
• Support outage, turnaround, maintenance, and capital project activities as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
