Rural Metro Fire in Louisiana seeks a dedicated Firefighter to perform emergency response duties, participate in training, and maintain equipment. This safety-sensitive position requires the ability to work flexible shifts and follow strict procedures to protect life and property.
Under direct supervision you will respond to fires, administer first aid, conduct inspections and permits, operate vehicles and equipment, and help maintain apparatus.
Under direct supervision, trains for and participates in duties and related responsibilities of an emergency and/or hazardous nature in fire suppression and emergency operations in an industrial facility . Although firefighting and rescue work are the most difficult and responsible areas of activity, the major portion of time is spent drilling and studying methods, techniques, and organization, and in routine duties in the care and maintenance of customer property and equipment.
This is considered a safety sensitive position and is subject to the both, the Company’s and the Client’s Industrial Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, which includes: pre-employment, post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and follow-up testing.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This position operates on the DuPont shift schedule, which consists of a repeating cycle of 12-hour shifts that include a combination of day and night assignments. The schedule incorporates built-in periods of consecutive days on duty followed by extended periods off duty, resulting in an average of approximately 44 hours of work per week over the full rotation.
Travel is usually limited to one time per year for live fire burns , 2-5 day duration .
T he employee will be exposed to noise levels ranging from moderate to very loud, from open areas to very cramped confined spaces.
The employee may be required to work at heights above ground and/or confined spaces within the plant premises.
The work environment will subject the employee to heavy t raffic conditions both in responding to emergency calls and when attempting extrications at emergency scenes.
