Responsibilities

• Performs fire watch duties to prevent and respond to fires.
• Ensure fire watch permits are properly completed and signed before work starts.
• Contact emergency services using alarms, radios, or phone when needed.
• Direct employees to evacuate hazardous areas during hot work.
• Inspect fire extinguishers for charge and inspection tags.
• Monitor area for at least 30 minutes after hot work ends.
• Perform housekeeping to reduce fire hazards.
• Identify and respond to dangerous conditions.
• Regular attendance and possible travel may be required.
