Job summary

Rogers Machinery Company, Inc. in Boise, ID is seeking an Industrial Field Service Technician III to repair and service industrial air systems at customer sites across the region. You will read sketches and schematics, troubleshoot PLCs, align components, and verify power and readings with diagnostic tools.

The role includes on-call duties, occasional overnight travel, and training customers’ staff. As a Field Technician you will maintain vehicles, manage parts, complete paperwork timely, and

Qualifications

• 2+ years of compressor maintenance and troubleshooting experience or 5+ years of general mechanical experience.
• Specialized Training: Mechanics, Refrigeration, Electrical Circuitry
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
• Ability to recognize common mechanical and electrical components.
• Apply system troubleshooting skills effectively.
• Effective customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Read/follow sketches, schematics, blueprints, manufacturer’s specifications, and maintenance manuals to determine troubleshooting procedures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs using system troubleshooting methodology and diagnostic tools.
• Interpret readings on gauges, indicators, and dials.
• Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
• Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem area, using hand tools and power tools.
• Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
• Realign and adjust components.
• Apply knowledge of electrical circuits, mechanics, and pneumatics.
• Verify that electrical power is reaching the compressed air equipment, and that voltage is as specified, using testing instruments.
• Test electrical components, such as wiring, switches, and relays, using test instruments, and replace faulty components.
• Troubleshoot PLCs with diagnostic tools.
• Start machine and equipment to test operation following repair.
• Complete the Level 3 PQS (Personnel Qualification Standard).

Repair industrial machinery; such as, air compressors (5-500HP), positive displacement and liquid ring pumps, refrigerated and desiccant dryers, and vacuum systems at various customer sites.

Additional Job Duties:

• May train customers’ staff in the operation of compressed air machinery.
• Maintain company vehicles.
• Organize and manage truck stock parts and tools.
• Complete timecards, work orders & paperwork legibly and in a timely manner.
• Position includes “on-call” as needed.
• Some overtime work and occasional overnight travel.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
