Job Overview

The Industrial Field Service Technician provides on‑site mechanical support for IR products, delivering customer‑focused solutions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The role combines hands‑on mechanical expertise with PLC programming to design, code, and optimize control systems that power high‑performance operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support during repair and installation of IR equipment at customer sites.
  • Ensure safe work practices and report safety incidents promptly.
  • Improve responsiveness by conducting technical walk‑downs and providing solutions that differentiate IR proposals.
  • Complete required reports (Service Reports, Customer Call Reports, Expense Reports, Time Sheets) in a timely manner, supporting accurate invoicing.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance customer response time and data accuracy.
  • Maintain proficiency with vibration analysis and laser alignment equipment.
  • Generate sales leads and support the Aftermarket group, contributing to IR installed base growth.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of relevant mechanical background with industrial equipment (millwright, maintenance, engineering, field service).
  • PLC programming experience for design, coding, and optimization of control systems.
  • Hands‑on mechanical skills with industrial systems, preferably including centrifugal and/or positive displacement compressors.
  • Ability to read and interpret control panel schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license (12 months, no major violations).
  • US Passport for occasional international travel.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Travel & Work Arrangements
  • Travel up to 80% with international travel as needed.
  • Schedule: Monday‑Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
  • Position: Salary Non‑Exempt with eligibility for overtime pay.
  • Shift premium pay for travel with overnight stays and international travel.
