GSM Industrial is seeking an experienced Industrial Field Estimator / Project Manager to own cradle-to-grave industrial projects, from initial conversations through execution and completion.
The role blends estimating with field execution across piping, rigging, machinery installation, and structural steel, requiring hands-on problem solving and strong customer relationships. Hybrid work with site time.
We’re looking for an Industrial Field Estimator / Project Manager who understands how industrial work actually gets built, not just how it looks on a set of plans.
This is an estimating-first, cradle-to-grave role supporting industrial installation projects. You’ll take projects from the initial customer conversation and estimate through execution and completion. The work can include industrial piping, structural steel, machinery installation, equipment rigging, maintenance, and repair projects within manufacturing environments.
Unlike environments where every project arrives with a complete set of drawings and specifications, some opportunities start with a customer walking around the site and describing what they need. You’ll need the practical knowledge to evaluate that request, determine what labor, materials, equipment, and resources will be required, build the estimate, and then help carry the project through completion.
If you understand industrial work, enjoy solving problems in the field, and like owning a project beyond simply putting a number on it, this could be a great fit.
We care more about your industrial knowledge and hands-on experience than checking a specific number of years or having a particular degree.
Formal education can be beneficial, but relevant hands-on industrial experience carries more weight for this position.
This probably isn't the right opportunity if your experience is primarily centered around:
We need someone who understands the industrial environment and is comfortable estimating the work and helping make sure it gets built successfully.
Monday through Friday, mixture of office, onsite, and remote.
The typical workday is approximately 6:00 AM–3:00 PM, although hours may shift depending on project and field needs.
Because this role supports active industrial projects, you'll spend time both working with project information and getting into the field where the work is happening.
This is an opportunity to become an important part of a growing industrial operation while working on a wide range of projects for manufacturing customers.
Rather than being siloed as either an estimator or project manager, you'll have the opportunity to understand the customer's needs, build the estimate, win the work, and stay involved through execution.
For someone who enjoys industrial work, variety, customer relationships, and seeing a project through from the first conversation to the finished product, this role offers the chance to truly own the outcome.
