Job summary

Synagro Technologies, Inc. is seeking a reliable Equipment Operator to inspect, maintain, and control processing equipment. You will ensure safe, cost-effective operation to meet contract, permit, and regulatory requirements.

You will operate front-end loaders, excavators, and road tractors while adhering to SOPs, recording data, and performing preventative maintenance. A valid license, basic math skills, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience making minor repairs to operating equipment preferred.
• Training received and applied to job responsibilities.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude preferred.
• Experience with computer/electronic controls is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment such as front-end loader, excavator, and road tractor.
• Monitor and control processing operations following SOPs and company policies.
• Maintain accurate operation records including hourly data and abnormal conditions.
• Daily equipment maintenance per maintenance schedule; grease, tighten and replace filters.
• Initiate emergency procedures to ensure safety and prevent damage.
• Conduct daily inspections and maintenance; document malfunctions and unsafe conditions.
• Clean equipment daily; ensure cleanliness before road travel.
• Enforce safety procedures and perform other duties to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Ensure timely, accurate completion and submission of paperwork.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain a professional company image at all times.
• Secure tarps/hard tops after loading and manage spill containment as needed.
• Follow company procedures if any spill occurs during transport or on-site.
