Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation seeks an Industrial Engineering Intern to assist the Engineering Manager in supporting the manufacturing plant. The role involves mapping processes, eliminating bottlenecks, and redesigning layouts to improve efficiency.

You will conduct line balance reviews, perform time studies, and help develop standards. Targeting sophomores/juniors in engineering; freshman considered with core curriculum exposure. Internship year-round for college credit possible.

Qualifications

• Candidates are college students targeting sophomore or junior year in engineering or related technical field.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail a must.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• GPA desirable: 3.0 or better.

We are targeting students completing their sophomore or junior year of college who are interested in working in a dynamic and engaging work environment to participate in our internship program.

Elkay interns will apply the skills and knowledge developed in college while contributing to exciting real world projects!

Duties

The Industrial Engineering Intern will assist the Engineering Manager with various projects to support the manufacturing plant by performing the following duties:

• Optimizing workflow by process mapping
• Eliminating bottlenecks to increase efficiencies
• Redesign/optimization of layouts
• Conduct line balance review of assembly lines
• Execution of time studies and standards development

The student will gain experience in the day-to-day activities and project work done by a typical industrial engineer.

We are targeting students completing their sophomore or junior year of college who are interested in working in a dynamic and engaging work environment to participate in our internship program. Students completing their freshman year may apply, but we prefer students already into their core curriculum. Elkay interns will apply the skills and knowledge developed in college while contributing to exciting real-world projects!

Qualifications

• Students completing their sophomore or junior year working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field strongly preferred
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week
• Ability to work with others, but highly self-motivated to achieve individual tasks efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail a must
• Creative problem-solving skills essential; strong analytical skills desired
• Computer skills including excellent skills with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• AutoCAD Experience Required
• GPA desired: 3.0 or better

The compensation range(s) identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.

The compensation range for this position is $19.50-21.50/hour.
