Job summary

UPS is seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern to work on targeted projects, collect data, observe operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Projects conclude with a formal presentation to the Industrial Engineering staff.

Responsibilities include work measurement, cost-benefit analysis, and applying AI/automation to enhance efficiency while developing practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. for this employer.
• Current student enrolled in a degreed college/university program or recent graduate (within 24 months).
• Available to work 40 hours per week during the internship period.
• Strong written and verbal communication, plus collaborative and independent work skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Work Measurement in Master Standard Data (MSD).
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and process improvement studies.
• Support operational planning and cross-functional projects.
• Explore and apply AI, automation, and data analytics to improve efficiency.
• Present findings to Industrial Engineering staff upon project completion.
