Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, CA, is seeking an Industrial Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) to join our team. This role focuses on analyzing lead times, scheduling, and optimizing product flow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include developing tools, aligning SAP/MRP, and driving digital transformation while working with cross-functional teams and maintaining DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1 year of technical/engineering or data analysis experience, or Master’s with 0 years
• Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance and program access within a reasonable period
• Willingness to travel at least 10%

Responsabilités

• Build scalable models to optimize product flow under cost, schedule, and resource constraints
• Map and optimize critical path product flow through the factory
• Develop optimized scheduling tools and align SAP/MRP with executable plans
• Incorporate complex interdependencies across cost centers, programs, equipment and tools
• Assist with digital transformation efforts aligning with sector strategies
• Lead and drive positive change using iterative and agile methodologies
• Create metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Industrial Engineer (Level 2) or a Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Palmdale, CA.

The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Palmdale. Note: This position can be filled with an Industrial Engineer or Principal Industrial Engineer level.

Responsibilities will include:

• Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently
• Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
• Understands, maps and optimizes critical path product flow through the factory
• Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints
• Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools
• Assist with digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies
• Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies
• Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance

Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer (Level 2):

• Bachelor's degree with 1 year of technical and/or engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree with 0 years of experience
• Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications
• Must have the ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated DoD Secret Security Clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Ability to travel at least 10%

Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3):

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of technical and/or engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a PhD degree with 0 years of experience
• Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications
• Must have the ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated DoD Secret Security Clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Ability to travel at least 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's of Science STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an aircraft or other manufacturing environment
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Formulas: VLOOKUP, INDEXMATCH, IF statements, pivot tables, pivot charts etc.)
• High proficiency in Microsoft Project (scheduling, resource loading, capacity, optimization)
• At least 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams
• Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods
• Experience with agile methods of project management or developmentEarned Value Management System (EVMS) "Gold Card" experience/training
• Composite bonding knowledge or experience
• Familiarization with low observable technologies and techniques
• Familiarization with aircraft system testing

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
