Johnson & Johnson in Santa Clara, CA is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing systems, process improvement, capacity planning, and layout design across NPI and sustaining operations for electro‑mechanical and robotic medical device assembly.

Working with Manufacturing, Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Suppliers, you will develop efficient, compliant, and scalable production systems using Lean and data‑driven analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
• Experience in regulated, high-volume manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Support industrial engineering activities for NPI and sustaining product lines, including process development, line layout, work cell design, and production flow analysis.
• Perform takt time, cycle time, capacity, and staffing analyses to support production volume and goals.
• Contribute to development and qualification of manufacturing processes, fixtures, tooling, and automation with cross-functional teams.
• Support DOE, IQ/OQ/PQ, process validation, and test method validation activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma to reduce cost, time, and defects.
• Collect and report manufacturing performance metrics such as yield, throughput, and scrap for decisions.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, and control plans.
• Assist with root cause investigations and CAPA implementation; support launches and manufacturing readiness.
