Job Purpose

Supports all customer order generation and fulfillment groups, including Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, Purchasing, and Distribution, by providing the information, tools, and processes required to effectively operate the business. Provides support to manufacturing in attaining all divisional goals for manufacturing.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts time and Motion analysis as input for all business system labor standards.
  • Conducts analysis for business system material usage standards, and material specifications.
  • Determines, develops, and maintains product process routings as input for business system product routings.
  • Develops and maintains/provides input, for all business system master data.
  • Provides manufacturing facilities layouts to provide for efficient flow of materials.
  • Develops product cost estimates for product development groups and Customer Service.
  • Develops, communicates, and effects Engineering Change Requests/Authorizations, including update of drawings, and other product related documents that improve cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Identifies, develops, and effects work environment improvements.
  • Initiates and effects improvements in methods, materials, and processes to support manufacturing cost improvement goals.
  • Provides support to Marketing and New Product Development to allow timely introduction of new products to manufacturing.
  • Uses quality management tools and methodologies to identify product quality standards and opportunities for improvements in product quality.
  • Qualifies, monitors, and analyzes vendor manufacturing and delivery processes and performance to fulfill business objectives and goals.
  • Provide information to accounting for verification of production costs.
  • Must be flexible to perform other duties as assigned and required.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable in the basics of product packaging.
  • Must have an extensive understanding of and the functional capability to develop and maintain business system master data.
  • Must be proficient with a moderate level in Computer Aided Design/Drafting (e.g., AutoCAD)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to work in a standard office environment.
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be very detail orientated and possess strong organizational skills
  • Must have knowledge and proficient use of applicable office-related equipment.
  • Must have excellent team skills, be flexible, and be able to meet and maintain performance standards.
  • Must display the applicable level of “Job-Critical Skills”: communications, judgment/decision making, safety, quality of work, initiative, teamwork, flexibility, leadership, service, motivation, planning/organizing, and job knowledge/skills development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field and experience in Industrial Engineering functions including time and motion analysis and cellular manufacturing.
  • Some experience in welding, metal fabrication, finishing, “engineered wood” working, assembly, and packaging.
  • A working knowledge of outlook.
Physical Requirements

Will require the ability to sit at desk, as needed up to 75% or more of the work hours and the ability to lift as needed up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis. Must be able to adjust to applicable environmental conditions, to include changes in temperature. May occasionally be exposed to chemicals, heat, cold, dust, and/or other operational conditions. Must wear applicable hearing protection while in the production/distribution floor environment.
