Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Industrial Engineer in Ocala, FL, to analyze and redesign workflows for improved efficiency in production facilities. You will lead layout designs, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate on Lean Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and boost productivity.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required due to facility access.

Qualifications

  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven data analytics and statistical analysis capability.
  • Experience developing large layout designs for equipment and workspaces to boost productivity.

Responsibilities

Standard Job Description

Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven track record in work measurement and time standards.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in developing large layout designs for equipment and workspaces to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software.
Desired Skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to drive strategic decision-making through data analysis, clear reporting, and executive presentations.
  • Proficient in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing and analyzing manufacturing systems.
  • Proficiency in using simulation software (e.g., Arena, Simul8, FlexSim, SIMIO) or Excel to model, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
