Bundy Baking Solutions in Urbana, OH is seeking a Spring Co-Op Industrial Engineer for the American Pan division. This 40-hour weekly Co-op starts January 2027 and welcomes students commuting to Urbana.

You will drive process improvements, support time studies, and apply lean manufacturing techniques to optimize production flow while collaborating with the Plant Manager and Quality Assurance teams. The program offers a real-world learning experience within a global family business.

Description

The Industrial Engineer will be pivotal in driving process improvements and operational efficiencies in American Pan manufacturing.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Industrial Engineering Co-op will perform standard engineering assignments involving process improvement including automation and standardization.

Primary Responsibility

• Collect and analyze data for assigned projects.
• Support the team in the development of assigned projects.
• Conduct time studies to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing techniques to optimize production flow and reduce cycle times.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to modernize manufacturing processes.
• Support troubleshooting, investigate, and implement improvement solutions for production process equipment, andsystems related to quality and safety issues
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Trained SolidWorks user.
• Trained AutoCAD user
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with die design and sheet metal forming
• Understanding of manufacturing operations, processes, and workflows.
• Experience with visual management tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of industrial robot applications
• Experience in machine programming (control and/or vision) is a plus
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Disciplined and result driven
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
• Knowledge of Minitab analysis.
