Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Industrial Engineer for a contract role in Cleveland, OH. You will optimize material flow, design equipment, and develop automation strategies to drive efficiency, quality, and sustainability in automotive launches.

You will collaborate with Safety, Manufacturing, Launch, and Supply Chain teams, perform cost analyses, and lead lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput on the plant floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field is required or preferred.
  • 3 to 10+ years of experience in a process or manufacturing role.
  • Experience in automotive industry with OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Strong background in industrial/manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with material handling and flow optimization.
  • Experience developing and executing lean layouts, routings, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of AMH, ASRS, AMRs in material handling.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize material flow, including layout, routing, and logistics.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies for material handling.
  • Design, develop, and integrate machinery and material handling equipment.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Manufacturing, Launch, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Support feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for equipment and layouts.
  • Identify and resolve issues in material flow, equipment, and processes.
  • Lead or support project and launch execution activities.
  • Develop and execute lean strategies, including layouts and routings.
  • Manage and coordinate project tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support off-shift activities and occasional weekends to meet milestones.
