Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing's client in Wendell, NC is hiring an Industrial Engineer to design, improve, and scale manufacturing processes for engineered protection and automation panel production. You will lead process improvements, time studies, line balancing, and Lean initiatives while supporting new product introductions and manufacturing readiness assessments.

Collaborate with supervisors and quality engineers to resolve constraints and drive safety, throughput, and delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations excellence, or continuous improvement in production environments.
• Experience with time studies, labor analysis, process mapping, and optimizing manufacturing workflows.
• Lean tools knowledge: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
• Experience supporting production environments through process improvement, tooling implementation, or project execution.

Responsibilities

• Improve safety, ergonomics, and workflow efficiency across assembly operations through analysis and redesign.
• Conduct time studies, labor analysis, capacity planning, and line balancing to improve throughput.
• Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and manufacturing methods.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on SQDCP performance.
• Support new product introductions and manufacturing readiness assessments.
• Design and implement fixtures, tooling, workstations, and material flow improvements.
• Apply Lean principles including 5S, visual management, and waste elimination.
• Partner with supervisors and engineers to resolve production constraints.
• Support digital manufacturing initiatives and data-driven operational improvements.
• Analyze performance metrics and recommend solutions to improve delivery performance.
• Assist with capital equipment justification and productivity initiatives.

Industrial Engineer

Our client is hiring an Industrial Engineer to help design, improve, and scale manufacturing processes for engineered protection and automation panel production.Responsibilities include:

• Improve safety, ergonomics, and workflow efficiency across assembly operations through process analysis, workstation design, and risk reduction initiatives
• Conduct time studies, labor analysis, capacity planning, and line balancing activities to improve throughput and production stability
• Develop, document, and maintain standardized work instructions, manufacturing methods, and process best practices
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity (SQDCP) performance
• Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and product transfers through manufacturing readiness assessments and process validation
• Design and implement manufacturing fixtures, tooling, workstations, and material flow improvements
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, visual management, and waste elimination
• Partner with supervisors, planners, quality engineers, and operations leaders to identify and resolve production constraints
• Support digital manufacturing initiatives, including digital work instructions, performance dashboards, and data-driven operational improvements
• Analyze manufacturing performance metrics and recommend solutions that improve operational effectiveness and delivery performance
• Assist with capital equipment justification, implementation, and productivity improvement initiatives

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (equivalent practical experience considered)
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations excellence, or continuous improvement within a production environment
• Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, process mapping, and manufacturing workflow optimization
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work methodologies
• Experience supporting production environments through process improvement, tooling implementation, or manufacturing project execution

Preferred:

• Experience with electrical assembly, control panels, switchgear, protection systems, automation products, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification
