Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing and operational improvement initiatives in Texas. The role is suitable for recent graduates and professionals with up to 3 years of experience who are interested in process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, production efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Current Texas entry-level Industrial Engineering roles commonly emphasize process analysis, time studies, capacity planning, workflow optimization, data analysis, plant layout, and continuous improvement.
Job Functions
- Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, cycle times, and production methods.
- Conduct time studies, work measurement, and capacity analysis.
- Identify bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for improving productivity.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with production line balancing and workforce utilization.
- Analyze production and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support facility layout, material flow, and workstation optimization.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
- Support new product introduction and manufacturing process improvements.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and process documentation.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Knowledge of time studies, process mapping, and line balancing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing/plant environment.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, or Root Cause Analysis.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or other plant-layout software.
- Familiarity with ERP, MES, or manufacturing systems.
- Experience with Power BI, Minitab, or similar data-analysis tools.
- Basic knowledge of simulation or capacity-planning tools.
