Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Industrial Engineer to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost at the Lansing Delta Assembly site. The role focuses on eliminating non-value-added activity and optimizing workflows to boost efficiency and product quality.

The ideal candidate is data-driven, collaborative, and capable of supporting plant initiatives including off-shift work. This onsite role emphasizes problem solving and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and problem solving in production operations.
• Experience documenting and improving standardized work.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, time studies and motion analysis.

Responsibilities

• Optimize workflows, labor utilization and sequence of operations to improve efficiency.
• Ideate, lead and support waste elimination and process improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Perform data analysis to establish shop performance metrics and solve complex operational problems.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, maintenance, production supervisors and shift leaders.

Job DescriptionThe Role:The Industrial Engineer drives improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost by identifying and eliminating non-value-added activity across manufacturing operations. This role develops, recommends and implements process improvements that enhance manufacturing efficiency, resource utilization and product quality.The ideal candidate is a data-driven problem solver who thrives in a competitive, fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
