Job description

Come Pioneer the Automotive Industry with us!

We are looking for you. Yes you!

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Launch Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be a key player in coordinating vehicle launch, retooling, and model change programs. You will bridge the gap between product design and shop floor execution—optimizing operator workflows, eliminating bottlenecks, and ensuring our assembly lines are balanced, ergonomic, and fully prepared for seamless production launches.

Key Responsibilities

Line Balancing & Workflow Optimization Standardized Work & Workloads: Develop standardized work instructions and balance operator workloads to perfectly align with target takt times using Pre-determined Time Standards (such as MTM, MOST, or MODAPTS).

Build Sequencing: Review product models within Teamcenter to determine and optimize the build sequence.

Throughput Analysis: Lead throughput and bottleneck analyses to actively identify improvement opportunities and eliminate manufacturing constraints.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication

Stakeholder Presentations: Present station readiness plans to the steering committee and external customers. Present comprehensive line balances to the core launch team (comprising product, engineering, and operations).

Engineering Direction: Provide strategic direction to Station Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to drive design and process improvements.

Continuous Improvement: Lead or actively participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) workshops and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Validation, Safety & Metrics

Ergonomic Evaluations: Compile data for ergonomic evaluations using digital tools like Process Simulate Human or ErgoMan to hand off to the responsible safety teams.

Quality & Compliance: Validate Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and process documentation to ensure compliance and secure formal launch approval.

Launch Tracking: Support pilot builds, tool tryouts, and process validation during pre-production phases. Track and report key launch metrics including cycle time adherence, first-time quality, downtime, and throughput performance.

Profile
Education & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related technical discipline), or equivalent relevant work experience.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a vehicle assembly manufacturing or assembly environment, specifically supporting vehicle launch, retooling, or model change programs.

Technical Skills

Tools Software: Basic proficiency in AutoCAD for line layouts and advanced usage of Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

PLM Software: Familiarity with Teamcenter / JT2Go for reviewing product models.

Ergonomic Tools: Exposure to digital ergonomic tools (Process Simulate Human, ErgoMan, etc.) is a plus.

Core Methodologies

Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, line balancing, and standardized work.

Solid understanding of PFMEA, lean methodologies, and ergonomic design.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to present technical data clearly to diverse audiences.
