Job summary

JBS USA is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the Operational Excellence team. You will lead cross-functional improvement projects, develop ROI analyses, and drive standards across QA, Operations, and Engineering to improve yield and product consistency.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, KPI development (OEE, throughput), and strong collaboration with multiple functions to achieve site objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent and relevant continuous improvement experience.
• Experience in Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement with Lean/Six Sigma tools.
• Familiarity with value stream mapping, time studies, and RCA methodologies.
• Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP are a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure process improvements align with food safety and regulatory standards (HACCP, GMP, SQF/BRC).
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects from concept through implementation and stabilization.
• Develop charters, timelines, ROI analyses, and standardized progress reporting.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and Production for upgrades and layout changes.

Quality, Food Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all process improvements align with food safety and regulatory standards (HACCP, GMP, SQF/BRC).
• Partner with Quality Assurance and Operations to reduce defects, improve yield, and enhance product consistency.

Project Management & Cross Functional Execution

• Lead cross functional improvement projects from concept through implementation and stabilization.
• Develop project charters, timelines, ROI and savings analyses, and standardized progress reporting.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and Production teams to execute equipment upgrades, layout changes, and process improvements.
• Track benefits realization and ensure alignment with business and operational priorities.

Data, Performance Analytics & Reporting

• Build, maintain, and govern KPIs related to OEE, waste, labor productivity, throughput, and cost.
• Apply statistical tools and methods to evaluate process performance and capability (SPC, DOE, variance analysis).
• Transform data into clear, actionable insights and present recommendations effectively to site and senior leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Proven experience in Industrial Engineering, Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement, utilizing programs as Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, SMED, Kaizen, and RCA.
• Ability to perform value stream mapping analysis and time study .
• P revious knowledge in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Administration or equivalent.
• Six Sigma, Lean, and PMP certifications are considered a competitive advantage.

Technical & Analytical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis).
• Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and structured problem ‑ solving mindset.
• Ability to work effectively with operational data and performance metrics.
• Ability to prioritize, multi ‑ task, and deliver results in a fast ‑ paced environment.
• Strong customer ‑ service mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within cross ‑ functional teams.
• High personal accountability and flexibility, making self fully available as required.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Language, Mobility & Other Requirements

• Full professional proficiency in English, written and verbal.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

• Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
• 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule.
• This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
