Job summary

The City of Billings is seeking a Plant Maintenance Electrician to perform industrial electrical, instrumentation and electronics maintenance for its water and wastewater facilities. The role includes installation, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and calibration of automation and process control equipment.

The position requires journey-level licensing or equivalent certification, multiple years of related experience, and the ability to adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years formal training beyond high school.
• Six years related electrical/electronic experience.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs SCADA, PLCs and other automation components.
• Plans work projects and prepares estimates of time and materials.
• Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Operates electrical switchgear, generators and motor drives.
• Ensures compliance with electrical codes and PPE requirements.
