Job summary

Arcwood Environmental in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and modify electrical systems across our waste-management facilities.

You will read schematics, perform calibrations, support safety programs, and participate in emergency response while upholding NEC and state/federal rules. This role requires 3+ years of experience and a journeyman certification or related degree.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Certified Electrical Journeyman or an Associate degree in an electrical related field (required).
• 3+ years of experience as an electrician (required).
• Experience working with PLCs (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and safe practices.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and electronic equipment such as motors, switches, timers, transformers and sensors.
• Operates tools to cut, thread, bend conduit and install/replace conduit and junction boxes.
• Installs and connects distribution and utilization equipment; ensures NEC compliance prior to installation.
• Reads and interprets electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Conducts weekly/monthly calibrations as required by regulatory agencies.
• Serves as an active member of the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT).
• Operates forklift or similar machinery as needed.
• Maintains understanding of/state and federal rules for waste management.
• Uses PPE around hazardous materials.
• Takes on additional duties to support the team.
