Job summary

Westlake Plastics Co in Lenni, PA is seeking an electrician with 3–5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting to perform a broad range of electrical maintenance tasks.

You will troubleshoot, install, and maintain electrical and control systems, read schematics, and use meters and scopes. NFPA 70E and NEC knowledge are preferred, with VFD experience, bearings, conveyors a plus.

The role emphasizes safety, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years minimum experience as an electrician in manufacturing.
  • Experience NFPA 70E and NEC knowledge.
  • Ability to troubleshoot motor control centers and PLC systems.
  • Proficient with electrical testing equipment.

Responsibilities

Performs a verity of electrical maintenance tasks including all the following pipe bending, panel construction, troubleshooting, basic mechanical operation. Ability to perform installation of both electrical and mechanical parts, ability to troubleshoot electrical problems, diagnose and maintain repairs of manufacturing plant equipment. Must be willing to work on other task as needed outside primary duties.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs.
  • Have knowledge of and use the required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and shock.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment.
  • Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate and maintain electrical apparatus. Work from complex engineering and manufacturers drawings or manuals to complete projects and assigned work
  • Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring.
  • Ability to use electrical/electronic testing equipment to such as multi-meters, ammeters, megohm meters, high potential testers, oscilloscopes, digital probes to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools related to the electrical trades.
  • Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
  • Install and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives. Install and maintain programmable logic control systems (PLC).
  • Interpret and/or modify PLC control logic as necessary. Install and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level controls.
  • Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
  • Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and panels.
  • Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems.
  • Use computerized maintenance system to retrieve and enter information.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment. Maintain records, update drawings, and develop safety procedures.
  • Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

3-5 years minimum experience as an electrician, in a manufacturing environment is preferable.

Experience NFPA 70E Desired.
