Job summary

Bilfinger Inc. is seeking an industrial electrical technician to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring and equipment at our projects in the Charleston area.

You will measure and cut cable trays, plan installations from wiring diagrams, and diagnose faults with test tools to ensure safe and compliant operation. Ideal candidates will understand conduit installations, inspect systems for hazards, and terminate wires to breakers, motors, PLCs and related components.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical and electronic wiring and cabling, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Measure, cut and assemble cable tray and cable support systems.
• Plan new or modified installations in compliance to wiring drawings and schematics, knowledge of various electrical architectures and capabilities.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Terminate wires to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, PLCs, fuses, relays or other components.
• Possess basic understanding of conduit installations above and below grade.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards and ensure compliance with codes.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using ohmmeters, voltmeters and meggers.
• Obey and follow all Bilfinger Inc safety rules and policies.
• Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE).
• Perform all other duties as assigned by manager.
