Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a skilled electrical technician to plan and install industrial wiring and control systems in a fast-paced environment. You will read schematics, install conduit, and connect power to equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with local codes.

The role requires a two-year degree or journeyman license with industrial experience and the ability to work with electronic drives, PLCs, and metering equipment. Forklift and lift equipment operation may be required.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in Electrical Technology or Journeyman Electrical License and minimum two years of industrial field experience.
• Minimum of five years of direct work experience in an industrial setup will substitute for the above requirement.
• Interpret documents such as Schematics, Wiring, Ladder diagrams, Operating and Maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Experience working with electronics and solid-state devices such as drives, programmable automation controllers, radio controls and metering equipment.
• Numerical Control or CNC experience is desired but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and ensure safe wiring per codes.
• Prepares sketches or follows diagrams/blueprints.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
• Pulls wiring through conduit and connects to fixtures and machinery.
• Installs and tests control/distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and panels.
• Discusses layouts and procedures with supervision; can draft sketches for design clarity.
• Sets up test apparatus and conducts functional, environmental, and reliability tests on prototypes or production units.
• Analyzes test data, adjusts circuits, and ensures system performance meets requirements.
