Job summary

Gerdau North America in Petersburg, VA is seeking an Industrial Electrician to maintain and troubleshoot our production equipment. This role focuses on diagnosing electrical faults, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting reliability improvements within a fast-paced steel manufacturing setting.

You'll work a 12-hour rotating schedule with day and night shifts, opportunities for overtime, and comprehensive benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting motors, controls, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule.

• Troubleshoot and repair motors, drives, electrical systems, and production equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
• Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment

• First year earnings of $116,000/year to $125,000/year DOE which includes hourly pay of $36.73 to $41.11 DOE, bi-weekly production bonus, shift premiums, and 354 hours of scheduled annual overtime.

Schedule

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
• Experience troubleshooting motors, controls, and electrical systems
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule

Preferred

• PLC troubleshooting experience
• Manufacturing, steel, paper, chemical, power generation, food processing, glass, or other industrial maintenance experience
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Welding or fabrication experience
• Experience working with cranes, conveyors, pumps, or heavy equipment
