The candidate will read schematics, troubleshoot PLCs, and perform preventive maintenance while coordinating with supervision. Strong mathematical and mechanical skills are required, and some overtime may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Electrical troubleshooting skills across machinery and production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagnose issues.
  • Experience with PLCs and basic programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code and electrical construction practices.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect and test machinery to diagnose faults and repair as directed.
  • Read schematics and use them to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Maintain, service, troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical circuits and components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and document work in ERP system.
  • Assist with shut-downs and shift coverage as needed.

Job description

Our client a publicly traded aerospace parts manufacturer locate in NE Ohio has an immediate need for an Industrial Electrician.

Basic Requirements
  • Visually inspect and electrically test machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems and repair machines.
  • Read electrical schematics and use them to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Possess basic PLC knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot utilizing the PLC programs.
  • Possess basic knowledge of the National Electrical code and standard electrical construction practices.
  • Use ERP system to order parts and document work.
  • Maintain, service, troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical and electronic circuitry and related components associated with production equipment.
  • Work from prints and plans to repair, maintain and install equipment.
  • Assist employees with repairs and diagnosis of equipment problems.
  • Ability to work with machine shop equipment including, but not limited to, mill, lathe, drill press, welding, and cutting equipment.
  • Monitors, schedules, and documents preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, install and repair pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Perform required facility safety inspections.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
  • Willing to do mechanical work as needed.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the electronic diagnostics of PLCs, AC/DC drive systems, and various types of computer operated control circuitry that includes working with voltages up to 480V.
  • Ability to perform complex mechanical and electrical work with speed and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and directed with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Assist with shift coverage as needed.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
