Job summary

Kellanova in Cary, NC is hiring an Industrial Electrician for a nightly 12‑hour shift (6 pm–6 am) on a 2‑2‑3 schedule. You will maintain equipment, troubleshoot PLCs, and perform preventative maintenance while documenting clearly.

You will read schematics, work on electrical and mechanical systems, and contribute to safety and efficiency in a food manufacturing environment. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Experience with PLCs and electrical/mechanical maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to read schematics and interpret drawings.

  • Overnight shift availability required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining equipment and expanding PLC knowledge through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and on-the-spot repairs.
  • Identify root causes of production equipment failures with schematic interpretation; repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and drive systems.
  • Seek ways to improve plant efficiency and communicate with leads and supervisors.

Job description

Do you have a spark for tinkering with electrical and mechanical components? We have an opening in our state-of-the-art facility for an Industrial Electrician in Cary, NC. This is an overnight shift position from 6 pm-6 am; you will be working on a 2-2-3 12-hour schedule with every other weekend off. This role has an hourly rate of $34.01.

A Taste Of What You’ll Be Doing
  • Maintaining Equipment and Amplifying your PLC knowledge - Alternate between troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and on-the-spot machine repair. You will need a firm focus and understanding of programmable logic controllers. This person must be creative in their solutions without being unclear in their documentation.
  • Analyzing Conditions and Providing Solutions – Identify and examine production equipment failures to understand root cause analysis, with the help of interpreting schematics and drawings. Investigating and repairing electrical & mechanical systems such as pneumatics, drives and hydraulics, and conveyors.
  • Prioritizing Innovation and Communication - Seek ways to improve plant efficiency and cost savings and maintaining an open dialogue with lead and supervisor regarding day-to-day activities.
We’re Looking for Someone With
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based safety systems
  • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day. The employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant
