Job summary

CBC is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technician / Electrician for an established manufacturer in the Richmond, Virginia area. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, production machinery, and facility electrical infrastructure.

In a multi-craft production-support environment, you will read drawings, diagnose faults in motors and power distribution, and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Journeyman license or industrial credential preferred.
• Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment docs.
• Experience with PLC/HMI/VFD and machine safety devices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment.
• Diagnose faults involving motors, starters, relays, transformers, and circuit protection.
• Troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase systems and power distribution.
• Use multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation-testers safely.
• Read electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Support PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, and VFDs; ensure machine safety.
• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance and document changes and tests.
