Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Technician for our Gypsum facility in Lovell, WY. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment with emphasis on safety and quality.

The position requires hands-on maintenance, preventive work, and collaboration across operations to meet production targets. The successful candidate will have a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, with knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

Two-year technical degree or two+ years in electrical/mechanical industry.
Experience troubleshooting electrical and instrument control systems and support equipment such as motor controls, PLCs, AC drives, and low voltage switchgear.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial equipment per plant policies.
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation.
Assist operators with troubleshooting to meet production, waste, and quality goals.
Collaborate with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
Learn and apply changing technical requirements.
Record work results and parts usage in the CMMS.
Adhere to safety guards and lockout/tagout procedures.
Work on any shift, including weekends/holidays/overtime.
Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, and bending up to 12 hours.
