Job summary

Aegis Manufacturing & Engineering in Asheville, NC seeks an Electrical CAD Design Engineer to design electrical control systems, wiring harnesses, and control panels for highly engineered industrial equipment.

You will create detailed 2D and 3D electrical designs, develop BOMs, and collaborate with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams from concept through production. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Creo is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
3–7 years of electrical design experience in manufacturing/industrial setting.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical required.
Experience using Creo for electrical routing and 3D design.
Knowledge of UL508A, CE, NEC electrical standards preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and collaboration across disciplines.
Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels, and harness assemblies.
Create 2D drawings and 3D models for electrical systems.
Develop BOMs, wiring documentation, and manufacturing packages.
Ensure designs comply with UL, CE, NEC and related standards.
Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to integrate systems.
Support prototypes, testing, troubleshooting, and validation.
Improve designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
Assist with ECRs/ECOs and maintain engineering documentation.
Participate in continuous improvement of electrical design processes.
