Job summary

Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc. is inviting undergrad interns for a Summer 2027 on-site program at our Middleton, WI office. You will work with a design team to generate concepts, create sketches and renderings, and produce usability-focused aesthetics mockups.

You’ll support senior designers with presentation materials, contribute to icon/font creation, and help craft project visuals. Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design with CAD/rendering tool proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 years post high school education in Industrial Design or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• Junior or Senior year, or relevant coursework completed.
• Familiar with rendering tools; Keyshot or SolidWorks Visualize.
• Familiar with CAD tools; SolidWorks and/or Rhinoceros.
• Portfolio or work sample document required.
• Web-based portfolios should include URL on resume.
• Submit unofficial transcripts.

Responsibilities

ETC is hiring interns for the summer of 2027! This is an on-site position in our Middleton, WI office.

Some of the duties you may be doing:

Assists in generating a broad variety of design concepts to satisfy the user needs and requirements of the product specification. This activity requires some of the following:

• Sketches and/or renderings
• Mechanical layouts to determine design feasibility
• Mockups of UI and/or product aesthetics
• Assists in the creation of icons and fonts
• Graphics for overlays
• Assists more senior Industrial Designers in presentation material for the project and/or product
• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• 1-3 years post high school education in area of specialization
• GPA: 3.0 or higher
• Working towards Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or related field
• Junior or Senior year or have taken relevant courses in Industrial Design or related field
• Familiar with rendering tools; Keyshot or Solidworks Visualize
• Familiar with CAD tools; SolidWorks and/or Rhinoceros
• Attach portfolio or work sample document
