ByteDance is seeking an experienced Industrial Designer for its internal hardware-focused team. The role focuses on researching new technology tracks and implementing AI-powered innovations across product ecosystems.

Responsibilities include integrating software experiences with hardware design, aligning design guidelines with ID teams, and leading 3D modeling and CMF development to support milestones from concept to production. Collaboration with software and supply chain teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in industrial design for hardware products or related physical product experiences.
• Experience contributing to at least one physical product from concept through production or implementation.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, rendering, and visual storytelling.
• Deep understanding of CMF, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualification(s)

• Degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
• Experience in defining cross-product-line design languages or brand ID guidelines.
• Ability to collaborate with software design teams to define cohesive hardware-software interactions.

  Job Information

  【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

  The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121600 - $208800 annually.

  Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

  Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
