Role Description:
This full-time Industrial Designer role is in-person, on-site in Draper, UT. The Industrial Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing new Candle Warmers and related fragrance products, ensuring they align with brand aesthetics, safety standards, and market trends.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Industrial Designer/Creative Director to research opportunities and deliver innovative product solutions aligned with company objectives, product development goals, and brand strategy
- Create concept sketches and high-quality 3D photorealistic renderings to visualize product ideas and design solutions.
- Conduct product research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, generate insights, and inform design concepts.
- Develop industrial design concepts through sketch ideation and creative exploration.
- Prepare and deliver presentations that communicate research findings, design concepts, and key insights to sales, marketing, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop design documentation, technical specifications, and manufacturing-ready materials to support the transition from concept to production.
- Create graphic design assets, including presentation layouts, photo editing, and visual communication materials.
- Leverage AI tools to support ideation, concept generation, and design development processes.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure design concepts meet customer needs, business requirements, and manufacturability standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Multi-Disciplinary Design, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in industrial design, product design, or a related product development role.
- Strong sketching, drawing, and visual concept development abilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related design software; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative design solutions while managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent creative problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management abilities.
- Foundational understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles, including materials, production processes, quality control, and product development methodologies.
- Knowledge of design principles and trends, including color theory, texture, form, ergonomics, and spatial design.
- Proven ability to create and deliver compelling presentations that effectively communicate design concepts and tell a cohesive visual story.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Passion for design, a positive attitude, and a continuous learning mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sourcing, marketing, merchandising, and manufacturing partners.
- Experience taking products from concept through production is preferred.
